FAQs

What are the benefits of your lip balms?

Our sunscreen lip balms are more than just tools for hydration, they do so much more. With so many different types of lip balm nowadays, it can be hard to see which ones are right for you. Our lip balm with SPF 50+ is filled with emollients to aid in locking in moisture and repairing dry skin. Our range of lip balms are broad spectrum and water resistant, meaning you have the ultimate protection from harmful UV rays through the inclusion of active ingredients.

Enriched with hero ingredients your lips will love like Cocoa Butter Oil, Vitamin E and Omega 3, 6 & 9, our lip balms offer a point of difference to others in the market. They will hydrate, restore and protect your lips. Our SPF 50+ formulas are made to hydrate your dry lips and to defend against sun exposure (or both!).

Our lip balms are made from traditional ingredients like smoothing beeswax (giving a creamy texture) and are infused with scents like Kakadu Plum and Coconut. They will add moisture to your lips without being too glossy.

*Lip Hacks*: Did you know that the oil in avocado can immediately make your lips appear fuller? Beyond doubt! The oil penetrates quickly into the skin of your lips and deeply makes your lips full and healthy. So, eat more avocado and use avocado oil as it is a great, natural way to have fuller, more healthy lips.

Do I really need broad spectrum on my lips?

Our lips are often one of the areas you’re forgetting to apply SPF to. Protecting them with UVA and UVB broad spectrum SPF is something people don't think of. Unlike titanium dioxide, our formulas use chemical UV filters to provide both UVA and UVB broad spectrum protection.

Unlike our skin, lips don't have any sebaceous glands to keep them moisturised or any melanin (what causes our skin to tan/burn). The melanin in our body provides a natural way of protecting our skin from UV rays and without it, they're at a higher risk of burning. So, it's important to use a moisturising lip balm SPF.

Our lip balm SPF is refined with Vitamin E, Cocoa Oil, Shea Butter and Omega 3, 6 & 9 for extra hydration and nourishment, plus broad spectrum protection to give you maximum coverage and fight signs of aging.

Be sure to shop and invest in a broad spectrum sunscreen all year round, learn how to apply sunscreen effectively and reapply often whenever you’re outside and wear protective clothing whenever you can. Reapply to your body and balm to your lips after swimming, toweling and sweating.

Can I use other sunscreen formulas on my lips?

Technically sunscreen will work on your lips, but you may not enjoy the taste, which is why we’ve added scents to our lip balms to make them taste all the more enjoyable The skin on our lips is much thinner than the rest of our skin so requires specially designed formulas with moisture-rich ingredients (please note; our Sensitive Lip Balm SPF 50+ is fragrance free).

Can I use your SPF 50+ lip balms on babies and kids?

Technically all of our products are safe to use on babies 6 months or older. If your baby is under 6 months you shouldn’t use SPF at all, but when clothing and shade aren’t efficient some is better than none.

Be sure to try products with no fragrance to mitigate irritation. Our Sensitive Lip Balm SPF 50+ would be a good fit for your babies lips and if you need sunscreen lotion our Baby Sunscreen would suit best. Be sure to patch test when introducing new products.

What SPF should lip balm be?

At We Are Feel Good Inc. we aim high and pride our products to be as high performance as possible. That’s why we believe our sunscreen and lip balm should be broad spectrum and SPF 50 & 50+. These broad spectrum SPF ratings are the highest possible under TGA licensing and we won’t settle for less.

Make sure your lip balms are enriched with ingredients like Vitamin E and Omegas to give your lips the best protection and hydration possible. Eating foods will help to fight signs of aging too - Avocados are a great source of antioxidants that aid in preventing the oxidative stress to the lipid layer of your skin. Avocados can also help wind back the clock and fight against sun damage and provide a little amount of UVA protection.

Can I put SPF lip balm over lipstick?

If you wear long-wear lipstick, our sunscreen lip balm SPF 50 is suitable to be applied over the top. Long-wear lipstick is notoriously drying, so applying a lip balm with hydrating oils and vitamins are essential to avoid cracked, dry and chapped lips. Our sunscreen lip balms are not tinted and won’t interfere with your choice of lipstick colour.

Are you lip balms chemical or mineral based?

All of our lip balms have chemical based UV filters to ensure ultimate protection from UVA and UVB rays. Our only mineral sunscreen is the Mineral SPF 50+ which uses micronised Zinc Oxide technology, a more effective mineral base than Titanium Dioxie. If you are searching for a chemical/mineral tinted sunscreen that can be used on your lips, check out our Sticky Zinc SPF 50+, with added Niacinamide, your lips will be looking and feeling hydrated!
