Ingredients your LIPS will love: Cocoa Oil, Shea Butter and Vitamin E

We always talk about how to protect & repair your skin and what ingredients to include in your skincare routine, but what about our lips?! Although they may look different from the rest of your skin, they're actually quite similar and require just as much TLC, if not more! Unlike our skin, lips don't have any sebaceous glands to keep them moisturised or any melanin (what causes our skin to tan/burn). Melanin is our body's natural way of protecting our skin from UV rays and without it, they're at a higher risk of burning. So, it's important to use a lip balm with SPF.

With our Lip Balm SPF 50+ range becoming a firm favourite, we thought we'd highlight some of the lip-loving ingredients that can be found in them. They're broad spectrum to give you maximum coverage and protect your lips from the harmful rays of the sun, and do not contain parabens, PABA, oxybenzone or octinoxate.

Cocoa Oil

Got chapped lips? A natural emollient, Cocoa Oil is super hydrating and nourishing making it perfect for dry and dehydrated lips.

“Another benefit of Cocoa Oil is that it can work to reduce inflammation, which may result from UVB rays, making it the perfect addition to our Lip Balms.” - Dr Scott McGregor, Skin Cancer Physician and We Are Feel Good Inc. Co-Founder.

Shea Butter Oil

Known for its soothing and softening properties, Shea Butter Oil contains high concentrations of vitamins and fatty acids making it an excellent emollient and moisturiser.

“Shea Butter Oil is used for its moisturising effects, thanks to its fatty acid content, including linoleic, oleic, stearic, and palmitic acids.”

Properties found in Shea Butter Oil have also been known to have anti-inflammatory properties which may help minimise irritation caused by environmental factors: sun, wind, pollution etc.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, meaning it is effective at combating the effects of free radicals. It also contains moisturising properties making it perfect for use on dry, chapped lips.

So, pucker up and let our Lip Balm SPF 50+ range moisturise, protect and repair your lips.
