How does After Sun Cooling Lotion differ from your Body Milks?
Made for those of us who have had a little too much fun in the sun, our After Sun Cooling Lotion is the best after sun lotion to cool your skin. It contains ingredients such as Cucumber, Peppermint and Aloe Vera Juice for their antioxidant, antibacterial and antiviral properties helping to reduce redness, irritation and swelling.
Our Body Milks & Moisturisers are intended for everyday use with added goodies to help hydrate and maintain a healthy skin barrier. Our moisturisers are for face and body, suitable for all skin types and designed for both men and women.
What makes your After Sun Lotion better than Aloe Vera Gel?
Our After Sun Lotion not only has the benefits of Aloe Vera, but also has added goodies to treat your sunburnt areas (even underneath your makeup). The added Peppermint helps to cool, while the Cucumis Sativus deeply hydrates. Trust us, it’s the best thing since sliced bread, and it’s way better than lathering yourself up in Greek yoghurt.
It also does not contain cetearyl alcohol and sodium hydroxide, common skin care ingredients found in most gels and lotions, which can be harmful and cause irritation to those with delicate skin.
What is the best way to treat sunburn?
Sunburn should be treated like any other burn. Get out of the sun as quickly as possible, cool the skin down with cold water and cold compresses and keep cooling the skin for as long as it feels warm. A non oil-based moisturiser can then be applied to trap moisture into the skin. Remember that ice directly onto the skin can cause burns itself, so cold compresses are the safest option.
Our After Sun Lotion, cools, soothes and hydrates sunburn. With added Aloe Vera and Peppermint it will leave your skin feeling smooth and smelling even smoother. It will be money well used! Follow up with some extra hydration with our Body Milks & Moisturisers containing emollients to re-hydrate such as Glycerin and Vitamin E.
We recommend seeking medical advice if you begin blistering or experience broken skin.
What ingredients are good for sun damage?
There are many ingredients that are best for sun damaged skin. However, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, Aloe Vera, & Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate) are among some of the best to treat uv damage on your skin. These can aid in combating fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and help in maintaining skin elasticity. Our After Sun Cooling Lotion has natural Aloe Vera extract. It also contains Cucumber, rich in minerals and vitamins A, B, C & E. It also has a cooling effect which can help with irritation and gently soothe your skin.
How do I prevent sunburn?
Typically, you should use the equivalent of a teaspoon of sunscreen to each arm, leg, front of body, back of body and face (which includes neck and ears). If you are not applying this amount to each of these areas of the body, you will not be getting the amount of protection listed on the bottle. Up to 90% of aging and most skin cancers are caused by unprotected sun exposure.
The damage is cumulative, and in Australia, can occur in as little as 10 minutes in the sun. So, applying sunscreen every morning should be an essential part of your daily routine. Remember to apply to dry skin at least 20 minutes before you go outside and to re-apply throughout the day. Try a water resistant SPF when swimming and sweating and always re-apply according to product details.Sunscreen is just one preventative measure you can take to reduce your risk of being burnt by the sun. It is also important to wear long sleeve clothing and a hat for protection when exposed to the sun, and try your best efforts to seek shade where possible.
