FAQs

How long does face sunscreen last?

Our face sunscreens differ in how long each of them lasts. For instance our Sticky Zinc is water-resistant for up to 4 hours, while our Good Morning SPF 50 can last up to 2 hours and is not water or sweat resistant.

We recommend that you use face sunscreen liberally and reapply according to product directions, while avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun, even for those with deeper skin tones.

How much sunscreen should I apply on my face?

Sunscreen is still considered to be the most effective instrument in fighting premature aging, so applying every day in-line with product directions will ensure your face has the highest sun protection possible.

Each product is different, so we recommend to wear sunscreen according to product directions. Use liberally on dry skin and cover exposed area/s 20 minutes before sun exposure. Apply every 2 hours or straight after sweating, swimming and toweling.

Be sure to always use a broad spectrum sunscreen that offers UVB & UVA protection. Prolonged exposure increases chances of skin cancer. Remember, UVB rays (B = Burn) and UVA rays (A = Age.)

Are your face sunscreens safe to use on babies or sensitive skin?

Most of our face sunscreens are safe to use on babies 6 months + and for those with sensitive skin. However, as with all new products, we recommend introducing products by starting with a small patch test.

If you do have sensitive skin, we suggest that you stick to our fragrance free and dermatologically tested Sensitive sunscreen range or try our Baby Mineral SPF 50+ the perfect sunscreen for the softest of skins. Our mineral sunscreens are formulated with micronised Zinc, and are suited to those with the most delicate skin types due to it being an active that creates a physical barrier, rather than absorbing into the skin.

Are your face sunscreens non-comedogenic?

All of our products are on the lower end of the comedogenic scale and are suitable for all skin types, including oily skin.

What are Mineral Sunscreens?

Mineral (physical) sunscreen is made up from either Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide active ingredients. This differs from chemical facial sunscreen in the way they absorb and/or scatter UV light. Chemical sunscreen tends to absorb more rays than mineral based sunscreens.

So, is it natural you ask? Well, kind of…

The actives in mineral sunscreen are mineral based, hence natural by the nature of the ingredients as both mineral UV filters are considered natural minerals. However, most mineral sunscreens in the market are formulated in a lab setting, making the term ‘natural’ problematic.
